Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces growing in power within the urban setting.
Note: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will separate from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as important members in the powerful family could help the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to travel to the northern region in search of the traitor.
